On April 26, Virginia Tech’s Fraternity and Sorority life hosted its annual FSL
Awards, where the Eta Xi chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha received four awards.
Zeta won the Excellence in Member Development Award which recognizes an
organization who created and implemented opportunities to have their members
to grow and develop in a variety of ways.
During the 2022-2023 school year Zeta has:
The Programs Council providing an increase in the number of sisterhood events each month.
Corbin Wilson, our Vice President, added positions of Crown Care Chair, Sunshine Chairs and Director of Standards of Excellence to our Programs Council.
Erin Meaney, our Historian, created a team of 19 women who contribute to our blog and social media presence.
Corinne Karabulut, our 2022-2023 DEI Director, established specific positions within our DEI committee.
Rachel Mannasse, our Academic Chairman, has helped Zeta become a place of professional growth.
We changed the language surrounding living in the house as a privilege not a requirement, resulting in the entire house for 2024-2025 has been filled.
With the implementation of so many new practices, Zeta has become an
organization dedicated to ensuring that all members feel as cherished and
supported.
Zeta also won the Inclusive VT Award which recognizes an organizational
initiative or program that creates a more inclusive community through its social
justice and equity efforts.

Here at ZTA two of our key values are love and seeking understanding; each of
our 220 members hold these values highly and incorporates them into their daily
lives. Each member individually cares that we are a diverse, inclusive, and an
equitable sorority. We want everyone to feel welcomed here at ZTA and that their
background and differing cultures are embraced. The strides DEI has made over
the last year are immense and we are proud of the way the women of ZTA
continue to embrace change, differences, and equality.
Gina Beller, previous DEI Director, won the Courageous Leadership - A Student
Affairs Learning Aspirations Award which recognizes a community member who
has created change and been on the front line of advocacy for diverse and
underrepresented populations.

Arley Lausin, Vice President IV, won the Curiosity Award – A Student Affairs Learning Aspirations Award which recognizes an FSL community member who initiates and embraces the pursuit of learning, and has a strong sense of how their membership enhances their life and the lives of others.
